Sensidyne was founded in 1983 as a manufacturer and distributor of gas detection equipment. In 1995, the Gilian Instrument Company was acquired to expand the existing line of vapor and particulate personal sampling pumps. The Company operates from a 25,000-square foot (2,323 square meter) facility in Clearwater, Florida employing over 100 highly skilled employees. Sensidyne consists of four core product lines: Fixed Gas Detection Systems, Gilian Air Sampling products, Colorimetric Gas Detector Tubes, and Micro Air Pumps.
In Fixed Gas Detection Systems, Sensidyne is a leading provider of systems designed to protect human lives and minimize infrastructure damage by detecting toxic and combustible gases, and oxygen enrichment/deficiency in a wide variety of industries. These include Oil and Gas, Pulp and Paper, Semiconductor, Petrochemical, and other industries. Fixed Gas Detection instrumentation products are sold to customers through a network of independent Manufacturer's Representatives in the United States of America and by independent distributors internationally.
Gilian Air Sampling products are the world's leading family of personal and area sampling pumps. These pumps are used by Industrial Hygienists to sample the workplace air for dusts, vapors and other airborne contaminants. Sensidyne sells air sampling equipment worldwide through highly qualified independent distributors.
Sensidyne is a leading supplier of Piston Pump Gas Detection Tube systems. We offer colorimetric gas detection tubes for quick and easy detection of over 300 gases and vapors. Sensidyne has an unmatched record for on-time delivery, customer service, and technical support. Our Gas Detection Tubes are available through a network of over 100 authorized distributors.
Sensidyne Micro Air Pump products are designed and manufactured per customer specifications at Sensidyne. These products are sold directly to OEMs worldwide and are available as off the shelf models or tailor made for the specific application. We service a wide range of applications including medical, gas sampling, and gas analysis industries.

MULHEIM-Ruhr, Germany / CLEARWATER, FL, April 28, 2008 – Sensidyne, LP a Florida limited partnership and member of the Schauenburg Group has reached an agreement to acquire the assets of Sensidyne, Inc., a leading manufacturer of industrial health and safety instrumentation. The agreement transfers ownership of the assets of Sensidyne, Inc. from Siegel-Robert, Inc. to the Schauenburg Group. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. All Sensidyne, Inc. employees have joined Sensidyne, LP.
This acquisition is a strategic addition for the Schauenburg Group in an effort to expand their footprint in the Americas and open doors into new markets. The substantial synergies that exist between the businesses and their product portfolios will be of great benefit to customers of both companies as well as their sales channel partners.
