JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to oversee and participate in the assigned work cell assembly and testing activities to ensure complex electronic and mechanical assemblies are built according to print and/or process guidelines in a timely and efficient fashion while meeting shipment expectations of production work orders and/or sales orders.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assembly and testing /calibration of products according to Standardized Work documentation, prints, bills of materials or any other process instructions.
- Assembles product in accordance with Company productivity standards.
- Oversee assembly and testing /calibration of products according to Standardized Work documentation, prints, bills of materials or any other process instructions.
- Required to lead, train and instruct co-workers on product processes and assembly methods as required.
- Follows production schedules and meets schedule deadlines.
- Identifies problems and provides input for method and product improvements (i.e., Kaizens) to enhance production efficiency and promote product quality.
- Uses soldering iron to perform all soldering techniques required per IPC Standards.
- Capable of troubleshooting and rework products as required.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment to 5S standards at all times.
- Assists in development and improvement of Standardized Work documentation as required.
- Proficient in interpreting all documentation, including redline prints and procedures, for Sensidyne products.
- Prototypes build assembly operations as required.
- Capable of performing basic data entry and other computer tasks, including navigating the Company’s computer system as required.
- Performs in-process product audits as required.
- Performs setup, mixing, application and cleanup of epoxy and potting processes.
- Can identify and properly utilize all mechanical and electrical assembly and test equipment, fixtures, tools and equipment.
- Follows safe working practices and Company policies at all times.
- Performs all assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and complete fashion.
- Understands and adheres to Sensidyne quality practices and company operating procedures.
- Availability to work overtime as requested.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good communication, problem solving, trouble shooting and time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a cooperative and helpful fashion with co-workers.
- Ability to lead, instruct, and train personnel on product processes and assembly methods as required.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Detail oriented and can read and understand prints and process documentation.
- Can use all mechanical and electrical assembly and test equipment, fixtures, tools and equipment, including hand tools, wire cutters, pliers, nut drivers, screw drivers, multimeters and flow meters.
- IPC soldering skills.
- Basic data entry and other computer skills.
- A comprehensive knowledge of electrical principles including but not limited to ESD, surface mount, and component identification.
Physical Requirements:
Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two (2) years production assembly experience or equivalent. Experience using standard manufacturing equipment and measuring devices such as multimeters, micrometers, and dial calipers required. Soldering and potting experience required.
